Building Bridges of Hope

At Al Rasool Centre, we take immense pride in being the heart of the Shia Muslim community in Hamilton and its surrounding areas..
Our Story
Al Rasool.Foundation of Waikato (ARFW) is a registered charitable organisation working to positively impact the lives of the growing Shia Muslim community of Hamilton (and Waikato at large). ARFW gained charitable status in 2012 and after a great level of effort – in the year 2021- succeeded in establishing a dedicated community center (Al Rasool Centre) by purchasing a property at 134 Riverlea Road, Hamilton.
Shia Muslim community has been part of the growth of the city since the 90s but the numbers have been bolstered of late with the arrival of a large number of immigrants and refugees. We now have more than 1,000 Shia Muslims living in Hamilton and the surrounding areas and Al Rasool Centre is the second home to them all.

Our Mission
The mission of Al Rasool Community Centre is to empower youth and strengthen the wider community by providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive space rooted in the values of the Ahlulbayt. Through dedicated youth programs, educational initiatives, sports and recreational activities, and community engagement, Al Rasool seeks to nurture personal growth, social connection, and positive impact. As a non-profit organization serving the Shia Muslim community, we are committed to supporting our growing community—especially its youth—through collective effort, service, and generosity.
